Suzanna Lourie
Suzanna developed a love of nature and adventure growing up in the Green Mountains of Vermont. During her “first career,” Suzanna worked as a travel writer & journalist based in Central America. Her travels brought her to some of the world’s greater ranges including the Andes & Himalayas. She didn’t know it at the time, but the taste of these wild, remote mountains would ultimately change the course of her life.
In 2017, Suzanna switched careers and moved to Colorado to work as a wilderness guide. She started climbing to expand her ability to move through more technical mountain terrain. Suzanna has since dedicated herself to climbing rock and ice, as well as, learning the skills necessary to facilitate these experiences for others.
As a guide, Suzanna’s main focus is helping others realize their own greatest potential through climbing in all forms. To inspire personal growth and external exploration.
Suzanna is based in Ouray, Colorado, and spends her winters pursuing her greatest passion: climbing frozen waterfalls. She guides in the North Cascades in the summer and her autumn season is usually spent climbing splitters in Moab. Whether exploring new or familiar mountain ranges, Suzanna loves any terrain where there’s an “alpine puzzle” to solve and it’s best share with great partners.
