Smile Mountain Guides and the CO ASL Climbing Group are partnering to host Kissfist, an outdoor climbing event that centers and celebrates the Deaf climbing experience! Saturday is the main event, starting with more yoga. Then, there are ASL clinics or personal climbing with friends, followed by an event cookout, raffle, and party!

Afterward, all festival goers are welcome to join in the evening of community gathering with food, drinks, games, and a raffle!

KISSFIST CLIMBING FEST

Join us for an unforgettable climbing day with the CO ASL community & Smile Mountain Guides!

Registration includes access to the climbing day, rental equpiment (if needed), evening cookout, raffle, and games.

We encourage you to enjoy Staunton State Park's many beautiful crags with the group, or on your schedule! We will have top ropes set up for group use in the main climbing area of Staunton. You are encouraged to bring your climbing gear (harness, helmet, shoes, belay device) if you have it. If you don’t we are happy to provide rentals for the day. Ropes, quick draws, and anchor material are not needed. However, if you would like to lead please bring your own equipment.

After we’ve spent the day sending, we welcome you to join a community gathering at the Marmot Amphitheater. There, we will celebrate with complimentary food, drinks, and games. You may even win big at the raffle! Prizes have been donated by
Mountain Equipment, Bent Gate Mountaineering, and Neptune Mountaineering.

  • Smile Mountain Guides and CO ASL Climbing group are partnering to host an outdoor climbing event. This event is unique in the way it centers & celebrates the Deaf climbing experience!

    Participants can explore the crags of Staunton State Park on their own or join the group at some of the popular climbing zones! Participants will be able to use gear provided by Smile Mountain Guides. Afterward, we invite you to join a community gathering with food, drink, games, and a raffle!

  • SUNDAY, May 10th

    8:00 am - meet at the Lazy V Parking Lot for a gear check

    8:30 am - Hike to the climbing areas. Expect about 15-20 minute hike.

    9:00 am-3:30 pm Climb, connect, enjoy the natural environment.

    3:30-4:30 pm Hike back to the cars and move to Meadows Lot.

    4:30 - 7:00 pm Grill out - food, drinks, games and a raffle!

    *Burgers, vegetarian options, and NA beverages will be provided. If you have strict dietary restrictions or preferences, please bring what will most nourish you!

Kissfist Climbing Fest

The answers to our most commonly asked questions about the Kissfist Climbing Fest.

  • The climbing day with meet at 8:00am at the Lazy V Trailhead in Staunton State Park. Afterwards we will head to the Meadows Parking Lot for our evening grill out and games. You can access the climbing areas from the Meadow Parking Lot if the Lazy V lot is full. It is approximately a 35 minute hike.

  • You are encouraged to bring your climbing gear (harness, helmet, shoes, belay device) if you have it. If you don’t we are happy to provide rentals for the day.

    Ropes, quick draws, and anchor material are not needed. We will have top ropes set up for group use. However, if you would like to lead please bring your own equipment.
