  • -March 30th

    -April 12th

  • Focus on a progression of security techniques used to manage variable alpine terrain often found on larger more committed mountain routes.

    This seminar will focus on:

    +short roping & pitching techniques

    +terrain and body belays

    +lowering and rappel technique

    +alpine anchoring principles

These are techniques employed by guides to protect their guests and themselves when traditional pitched climbing techniques do not suffice and where speed and efficiency add to safety. Often the plight of the recreational climber is to solo, exposing themselves and their partners to unnecessary risk.

These demonstrations and practicals lead way to a showcase of your new skills on one of Eldorado Canyon's rocky ridges.

This rock course will test your imagination and ability to choose the right technique at the right time for your team while also building in the complexities of more exposed terrain.

  • This adventure takes place in Golden, Colorado.

    Pre-Course Call:

Our team extends the offer to schedule a group call before your course. They will discuss crag options for the day, review gear needs, and share a general time plan for the climbing day. This is also a great way to ask any questions.

    Morning:

Meet at the trailhead given to you by your guide, share in some group hellos, and share a morning meeting,

The team will make any small adjustments to the kit and then take a stroll to the crag.

An integral part of climbing is familiarity with the area and its history. Our team shares some stories and educates as we approach.

    The Day of Climbing:

Mini teaching sessions focused on specific alpine rock management skills taught via ground school, lead the way to live leads. and practice in real terrain.

    End Of Day Debrief:

At the cars, we focus our attention on the day; sharing the Rose, the Bud, and the Thorn to ruminate more deeply on the experience. It is often customary ( but not mandatory) to have a meal back in the town to celebrate the great days spent in the mountains!
